Music On Hold Software

Music on hold software is yet another way to playback your on hold productions to callers.  Although music on hold software in itself is not really music on hold equipment, it does require playback from a computer, which then becomes your music on hold player.  There are not a lot of companies that offer music on hold software, and part of the reason for that is very low demand.  Having a computer hooked up to the music on hold input on your phone system and playing 24 hours a day has several disadvantages over a good quality music on hold player:

  1. Computers are not as reliable as a dedicated music on hold player.
  2. High energy consumption / not eco-friendly since the computer must be left on at all times.
  3. No auto-restart function.  If there is a power failure or the computer or program crashes, the playback will not automatically restart.
  4. Mixing and editing on hold music will typically not yield the same professional results as on hold companies.

On Hold Plus also includes music on hold software with some of their music on hold players, however, it is more geared towards mixing on hold content and not designed to playback music on hold content.
